July 26 – August 2 2019

Following on from last year’s successful inaugural Choral Summer Academy in beautiful Boswil, the Künstlerhaus Boswil has announced the 2019 Academy. With space for 30 singers the Academy mixes singing workshops with performances and social events. Led by Paul and his associate Dominic Lam, the repertoire stretches from study and performance of music from the Renaissance right up to newly written works, including pieces written specially for the 2018 Summer Academy composition competition.

Paul has been joined by singers from all over the world for the inaugural Summer Choral Academy in the Boswil Künstkerhaus (Switzerland) this week. Under the tutelage of Paul, assisted by Dominic Lam, the course covers music and performance issues, and culminates with a concert on July 31st.

Many of the pieces the Academy is studying come from the Paul Phoenix Workshop Collection, published by Edition Peters. The participants also have the chance to perform the winning entries in the composition competition, which attracted over 40 entries and was jointly won by John Rotar and John Milne.
